Eco-nautというオシゴト

日本科学未来館で、シンポジウム取材。
『日本のバイオスフィア～閉鎖型生態系実験施設　ミニ地球　が誕生する～』

青森県六ヶ所村にある日本版バイオスフィア
『ミニ地球』ってご存知ですか？？

地球は、近い将来、有限な資源である化石燃料も底をつき、
食糧問題はじめ、かなりシビアな時代が
やってくるといわれています。
ちなみに、**石油はあと３８年、
天然ガスは６３年、石炭は２１９年。
そんなこれからの時代、どうやったら人間がサバイブしていけるのか
その方法を探るために、
ミニ地球という人工循環型閉鎖空間で
実験が来年から本格的にはじまります。

（ちなみに**データは１９９８年のもの。いつまでたっても
このデータばかりがあちこちで引用されるらしく、
２０年前のお値段、の、物干し竿状態です）

エコノート（Eco-naut）といわれる人たちが
実際にミニ地球に暮らし、
農作業やミニ地球内の整備作業などを行い、
地球人んがどうすればこれからサバイブしていけるのかの
モデルとなります。
エコノートは、
専門試験、医学的、生理学的、心理学的な試験など、
宇宙飛行士選抜試験に準じた内容の適性試験により、
約５０人の応募者のなかから、４人の男性（第１次２名、第２次２名）が
選抜されました。２００５年から本格的に、
４ヶ月間の居住実験がスタートします。

毛利衛さんも、「彼らエコノートは、地球人がこれから生きのびていくことを
証明する役割を担う、地球人の代表者です。
循環したシステムを作ることができたら、
初めて宇宙での暮らしが出来るようになるんじゃないかと
思います」と話していました。

里山のように人が手を加えた生態系こそ、
生物が多様化するという考え方もありますが、
人間の快適性という視点にたって、害虫を一切排除した
人工の生態系をつくりだすという・・・
そもそも生態系をハンドリングするなんて、
いったいどこまで可能なんでしょうね。

微生物の代謝によって成り立っている、
生態系では、時に、まったく予測のつかないことがいくらでも起こります。
実際に、このミニ地球でも葉ダニが大発生したときが
あったそうです。
もう一段上の技術開発がなくちゃならないようですが、
微生物をも取り込んだ本当の意味での
自然と上手なお付き合いができる、
循環型システムのミニ地球が待たれます。

人工的な生態系は無理と思います。
絶対邪魔が入るはずです。コントロールは不可能でしょう。
